Wednesday, May 16th, 2018

What's up, 'Combies! The time has come. A moment 10 years in the making. Avengers: Infinity War has arrived and it wasn't a subtle entrance. It was loud and boisterous, all the while breaking records and hearts. This movie is most definitely a cinematic event and it has left a major impression on everyone that's seen it. So because of that, ya' boys are going to need a little help to unpack so we called in a friend to help us out with that. So come on down, kick back, and join in the group therapy as we deal with the monumental film that just happened to all of us.

(Reminder: This is an 18+ podcast. If you ain't over 18, FIND YO' MAMMY AND TURN THIS OFF!!)

Episode 51: The Trope-a-Dope

Saturday, February 17th, 2018

Alright, 'Combies! After our recent milestone (see the last episode), we decided to take a bit easy for this episode and moved our natural analysis towards something a bit broader. Looking over the broad spectrum of fictional media, for this episode, we're looking at tropes. That's right, tropes; cliches and concepts that we've seen pop up in book after book, movie after movie, etc. There's a lot of them out there, so ya' boys decided to address the ones that we like and the ones that we loathe. Also, get ready to learn some interesting stuff about our esteemed host. It's a hoot this time around, so come on down and let's get into it!

And don't forget, 'Combies, you can also find The Honeycomb Hideout on iTunes for the Apple-users in our audience!

For references to what we discuss this episode: Super Saiyan Satan, Gwendoline Christie stands above her castmates, The OC: Mmmm whatcha say, and of course, Feels Goodman:D

Episode 44: The Grinder

Sunday, April 23rd, 2017

Alright, 'Combies! The boys have returned with another melee of sorts as they tackle a full range of topics the in the most difficult and unorganized way possible: through stream of consciousness. Listen to them ramble as they tackle the spectrum of recent pop culture events, recollections of past awesome, hatred of Apple and ask questions like "Why?" and "WTF?". Also, listen as the boys incur the wrath of one with far more authority and power than they. It's all great fun, y'all, so come on down and hear it unfold.

Also, for Drew's favorite Timothy Olyphant's face: The Timothy Oly-Face

Wednesday, February 15th, 2017

The first episode of 2017 is here and the wait is over. THE TIME HAS COME!!! The boys have been talking about it for months now and now they're dousing you with it! That's right, it's the DRUNKCAST!! And what a time for it. With a new president carving out his "legacy" even before he takes office now finally having taken office, there's been a reaction and it will not be ignored. And they're going to drunkenly talk about it (and somehow manage to be poignant too)! With "the Audience" in tow and between the Women's March, the Illuminati, more Marvel fanning out, and Sad John Cena, this particular assembly is definitely a thing to hear! The overall thing to take from this? We're all in this together, y'all. So come on down and pour yourselves a drink because the boys are already ahead of you!

Episode 40: Back to the Melee: SHUT UP, INTERNET!!!

Friday, December 16th, 2016

Well, 'Combies. It's that time again. Of course, it's another episode of the Honeycomb Hideout, but it's more than that. It's a Melee episode! For those uninitiated, a "melee" is a confused scuffle or struggle. That is a pretty accurate description of what these episodes are; they are unplanned, unbridled streams of consciousness of your boys jump from topic to topic. Whether it's politics, fan entitlement, video games, extremely random references... Well... more random references than usual... and so much more! So if you want to get swept up into the melee, come on down and hold on tight, 'cuz it's gonna be a bumpy ride!!

For the video "Couch Commander" featuring President Barack Obama referenced by Paul, watch THIS!

For the interview that the guys inadvertently gape at William Fichtner over, watch THIS!

For the non-butchered original image that Joe is referencing from the Marvel series "Siege", look at THIS!

And because awesomeness, for the Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite teaser, WATCH THIS!

Episode 33: All The Dinosaurs Feared The T-Rex

Friday, April 8th, 2016

Alright, 'Combies! Things have occurred and we're here to talk about them. LOL  Deadpool has happened and made a pretty major impact on the Superhero film landscape and Paul the Engineer is back with Joe and we've got our buddy Drew with us to help to discuss R-Rated Superhero Movies; should they, shouldn't they, why would they?! This one goes on and off the rails more times than many of you may be able to keep track of. Just the way you like it! So come on down and see what kind of stuff flies out of these fools' mouths.

Oh and there's a crap-load spoilers in the show. So if you don't want the following things spoiled for you, you may want to avoid this episode: Deadpool, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Fantastic Four. Likely more, but enjoy dodgin' those. :D  SURPRISE HYDRA!!!

Episode 30: Comic Movie Madness Part 1

Wednesday, September 30th, 2015

Alright, Combies! We've got a special episode of the Hideout for you this time around. As Superhero and Comic Book movies have taken the mainstream by storm in recent years, Joe Cain felt it was time to take a look back just how we got to this point. Assisting with this assessment, he's brought Erik Westfall, Kim/Fr3nchKitti3 and Paul the Engineer along to explore the past and present of superhero films and how they were affected by the source material and how the source material were affected by them. It was such a big conversation, that we had to split it in two, so enjoy this first shot but don't worry, the second will be coming soon enough!  ;)

Episode 29: ACTUAL Shapes and Sizes

Monday, August 17th, 2015

Alright, 'Combies! After a bit of a hiatus and a lot of kitbashing, we're back to discuss yet another controversial topic: the female anatomy and how it's conveyed in the media! But to cover our bases, we actually have a woman on the show to help rein us in a bit (if that's possible). Artist Katie Hodges joins Joe, Mark and Nik in the Hideout to talk about this very controversial and yet extremely important issue in regards to art and media. So come on down and see where this particular rabbit hole leads!

And for those playing the home game, to follow along with the discussion, here are the relevant articles in the order they are discussed:
